WAYNE, N.J. – The No. RV/18 William Paterson women's basketball team (23-1, 17-0 NJAC) outscored Rutgers-Camden (12-12, 9-8 NJAC), 24-11, in the third quarter to help secure a 58-46 New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) senior day victory Feb. 14 at the Sports and Recreation Center.

Graduate student Megan Sears and seniors Luna Kirby, Patty Walsh and Renee Wells were all honored before the start of the game.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • The Pioneers led by two (24-22) with 9:48 on the clock in the third quarter after Rutgers-Camden scored on its opening possession of the frame.
  • WP pushed the advantage to double figures (46-29) following a 22-7 run with six different Pioneers recording points.
  • The Pioneers maintained their double-digit advantage en route to claiming the 58-46 conference home win.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

  • Wells posted her seventh 20-point performance this season after finishing with a game-high 23 points on 10-of-18 (.556) shooting to go with six rebounds, three assists and three steals.
  • Walsh went for eight points and six boards.
  • Junior Jada Jacobs had seven points and a team-high 11 rebounds while adding four steals and three assists.
  • Junior Mattison Chiera and sophomore Kaelyn Gowdy reeled in seven boards apiece.
  • The Pioneers tied the single-season program record for NJAC wins (17).
  • It's the most conference wins by an NJAC program in a season since Montclair State won 17 during the 2014-15 campaign.
  • WP played to a perfect 11-0 record at home during the regular season.
  • It marks the first time the Pioneers went undefeated at home during the regular season since the 2011-12 campaign.
  • WP extended its win streak to 13.
  • The Pioneers are ranked 18th in this week's Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Top 25 Poll and received votes in the D3hoops.com Top 25 Poll.
