LISLE, IL - The Benedictine University women's basketball team put together one of the best overall performances of the season in taking down visiting Concordia University Wisconsin on Wednesday night.

• Benedictine never trailed in the contest, playing solid defense throughout
• The first quarter was low scoring, a jumper from Allison Michalski gave Benedictine a 12-7 lead with 3:44 left in the opening 10 minutes
• Benedictine led 12-9 after one quarter
• Concordia Wisconsin tied the game to start the second quarter before a three from Venita Parsons and a jumper from Alena Moro enabled Benedictine to lead 17-12
• The second quarter advantage grew to 12 points on a triple from Parsons with 1:56 to go in the half and Benedictine led 35-25 at the break
• Concordia Wisconsin did not score for nearly six minutes to start the second half as Benedictine took a 40-25 lead which extended to 46-29 on a jumper from Bennita Drain
• The visitors never pulled closer than 14 points the rest of the way and Benedictine opened a 56-36 lead on a Georgia Alexakos jumper with 3:04 remaining
• Benedictine limited Concordia Wisconsin to the lowest offensive output of the season


• Benedictine shot 43.9 percent in the game and held a 43-37 rebounding edge as both teams controlled the defensive glass
• Concordia Wisconsin shot just 26.7 percent for the game
• Michalski led all scorers with 15 points off the bench
• Parsons added 13 while Madisyn Fischer tallied 11
• Alexakos and Moro both finished with eight points and nine rebounds


Benedictine (11-3, 8-1 NACC) travels to Marian on Saturday
