PORTLAND, Ore. - Shelly Kilcup scored 21 points and Samantha Potter recorded her fourth double-double of the season, but it wasn't enough as Warner Pacific dumped Pacific Lutheran, 77-61, in a non-conference women's basketball game played Tuesday night at Bart Valentine Court.

With the loss, PLU sees its overall record drop to 4-6, while victorious Warner Pacific improves its record to 8-6.

Kilcup, one of the nation's top three-point shooters a year ago, has struggled recently shooting the ball from three-point land. The sophomore guard found the range tonight, however, shooting 5-for-11 from beyond the arc on the way to her game-high 21 points.

Potter, a sophomore post, recorded her fourth double-double of the season with 14 points and 10 rebounds.

Warner never trailed in a game that was tied only once at 2-2. Despite falling behind early, the Lutes rallied to within three points at 18-15 when Kilcup hit a pair of threes and Andi Adams added another. Adams, a frosh guard, finished the game with eight points.

Warner Pacific was able to pull away to a 15-point lead at the intermission, 42-27, and it led by as many as 27 points in the second half at 61-34 before settling for the 16-point victory.

After shooting just 29 percent in the first half, the Lutes were able to bring that percentage up in the second half and ended the game at 36 percent (22-for-61). PLU was most accurate from long range, shooting 43 percent (6-for-14) for the game.

The Lutes won the rebounding battle, 38-31.

The host Knights shot 52 percent overall, including a season-best 53 percent (9-for-17) from three-point range. They also had 26 assists on their 31 made field goals. Chelsey Christensen scored 15 points to lead four WPC players in double figures.

PLU plays its final non-conference game of the season on Jan. 2 when it hosts Corban University. Tipoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. in Olson Auditorium.
