The Lakeland College women's basketball team suffered a 66-47 setback against Northern Athletics Conference foe Concordia, Wis., Thursday night in the Moose and Dona Woltzen Gymnasium.

The Muskies (4-4, 2-3 NAC) couldn't get into a rhythm and were cold from the floor the entire game, shooting 27.1 percent, including 19.4 percent in the first half.

Lakeland's only lead of the night came at the 7:47 mark in the first half when senior guard Mary Dennewitz (Chicago, Ill.) drilled a 3-pointer to go up by two. Concordia, Wis., led by Katie Luethe's game-high 19 points, went on a run as the Muskies trailed 33-18 heading into the locker room.

Junior forward Allison Davis (Sheboygan, Wis.) had an impressive showing, scoring 10 points to go along with eight rebounds in her first start this season. Junior Alyssa Schuttenhelm (Waterford, Wis.) and Dennewitz both ended the game with 12 points apiece. Dennewitz also grabbed a team-high nine rebounds.

Head coach Teri Johnson was disappointed with the team's play.

"We're a team that needs to make adjustments right now," said Johnson. "We need bigger plays defensively that will help contribute to our offense. We need to figure out a way to adapt when losing one of our top scorers."

The Muskies opportunities to score were minimized by its 22 turnovers.

"Every game it's obvious a team needs to take care of the ball," said Johnson. "Concordia did a good job of getting us out of a rhythm, forcing turnovers, as they scored 24 points off our 22 turnovers."

Concordia, Wis., controlled most of the game. The Falcons shot 42.6 percent from the field, but struggled from behind the 3-point arc, posting 21.4 percent. Melanie Kulibert was the second-leading scorer with 14 points to go along with seven rebounds.

Lakeland returns to action as they travel to Beloit, Wis., to take on Beloit College on Saturday, Dec. 18. Tipoff is 1:30 p.m.
