Strong Second Half Leads to Win for Express

 

 

The Wells College men's basketball team had a strong second half as they would outscore the Mounties 53-44 to pick up the 78-71 win.  The win is the Expresses first conference win of the season.

In the second half the Express would shoot a strong 53 % from the field and 47% from the three-point line to pull away as they would see their lead grow up to 13 points.  IN the game the Express would shoot 25-58 overall and 20-29 from the free throw line.

The Express were led on offense by Terrance Clayton-Murphy who finished with 25 points as he shot 8-17 from the field, 6-11 from the three-point line and 3-4 from the free throw line.  Clayton-Murphy would also finish with 5 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 stills.

Senior Billy McCrae would have a strong game for the Express as he scored 17 points and pulled down a team high 9 rebounds.  McCrae would also hit a big milestone as he would score his 1,000 career point for the Express.

Ransel Rodriguez would lead the Express with 8 assists and 4 steals while also finishing with 16 points, while teammate John Bangel finished with 14 points and 5 rebounds.

The Wells College men's basketball team return to action on Wednesday January 17th when they host Hilbert College.
