Cortez Garland scored a game-high 22 points and Trine held Hampden-Sydney's Adam Brazil and Davidson Hubbard to a combined 10-for-33 from the floor as No. 13 Trine finished its thundering run through the bracket by defeating the No. 1 team in the country by a 69-61 score. The game was played in front of 4,546 fans, the highest recorded attendance in the history of the Division III men's basketball championship.
