Jack Taylor now has the first and third highest
single game scoring totals in NCAA history. |
One night after scoring 71 points against Finlandia, Jack Taylor scored 109 points against Crossroads College, the third highest single game scoring total in NCAA history.
Taylor shot 50 percent from the field (35-for-70) and from three (24-for-48). During a ten minute span in the second half, Taylor scored 49 consecutive points and took every shot for Grinnell. The Pioneers routed Crossroads 173-123.
Luke Yeager took the second most shots for Grinnell with 11 and Kyle Parker took eight. No one else took more than five for Grinnell. Full box score
On Saturday night, Taylor scored 71 points against Finlandia in a 144-99 win. Taylor shot 23-for-52 with 11 three-pointers in 32 minutes against the Lions.
Last season Taylor set the single game NCAA scoring record with 138 points against Faith Baptist. Clarence "Bevo" Francis has the second highest total with 113 points against Hillsdale in 1954.
