Friday night: Geneseo routs unbeaten New Paltz

The New Paltz State's women's hopes for a perfect season ended Friday evening, as the Hawks fell to Geneseo 73-43. The host Blue Knights (14-1, 8-1 SUNYAC) opened the game with an 11-0 run, pushing the lead to 18-3 before the Hawks began to rally back.

Geneseo (13-4, 9-2 SUNYAC) pulled out to a 22-7 lead when the Hawks closed the first half on a mirror-image 22-7 run to tie the game at 29. However, Geneseo opened the second half on a 20-0 run and never looked back.

No. 9 Lewis and Clark swept the regular-season series from No. 19 George Fox, defeating the Bruins 64-59. Kristina Williams was just 3-for-14 from the floor but made up for it at the foul line and had 11 rebounds in scoring 16 points.

Emory improved to 15-2, 5-1 in the UAA, as Misha Jackson scored 12 and Hannah Lilly added 11 in a 59-28 blowout of Brandeis.

The Emory men did likewise, upsetting the No. 19 Judges 69-55. Gabriel Moton scored 14 for Brandeis, but nobody else was in double figures as the Judges shot 39 percent from the floor. Jake Davis scored a game-high 18 and Michael Friedberg added 15 for the Eagles.

Frank Mitchell led five scorers in double figures with 19 points in Ithaca's 80-69 win against No. 20 Stevens. Travis Warech scored 14 points and added nine rebounds off the bench.

Second-ranked Rochester remained unbeaten in a 65-50 win against NYU. After a 10-1 start, NYU is 2-4 in the UAA. John DiBartolomeo had 15 points, 10 rebounds and six assists, while Tyler Sankes added 15 points and eight minutes off the bench.
