No. 13 Williams bounced back from a 12-point second-half deficit and a six-point deficit in the closing minutes but couldn't get over the top as No. 1 Middlebury survived at home, defeating the Ephs 80-79.

Because of the NESCAC's short conference schedule, this is the only meeting between the teams this season.

After a missed free throw with four seconds left, James Wang had a look from 20 feet to win the game at the buzzer but hit the back rim. Ryan Sharry shot 7-for-10 from the floor en route to 19 points for Middlebury, while Jake Wolfin added 16 on 4-for-6 shooting from three-point range.

Second-ranked UW-Whitewater got Chris Davis back at full strength and it showed on Saturday as the Warhawks' leading scorer poured in 22 points and grabbed 13 rebounds in a 67-49 win against UW-Eau Claire.

The jumble atop the Little East continued into Saturday, as No. 24 Rhode Island College got 21 points from Mike Akinrola and handed No. 18 Eastern Connecticut its second consecutive conference loss, 66-48. Chris Pagentine hit two free throws with 2.8 seconds left to lift Southern Maine past Western Connecticut, 85-84. No. 22 Wheaton (Ill.) won at home against No. 21 Illinois Wesleyan 60-53 behind a double-double from Tim McCrary, and North Central (Ill.) took over sole possession of first place in the CCIW with a 77-74 overtime win at Carthage.

Rowan finished the game on a 34-11 run to sprint past No. 14 William Paterson 85-62. Denison knocked off No. 23 Wabash 72-62 on the road, dropping the Little Giants to 6-4 in the NCAC and a tie for fourth place. Brett Tiberi, who averaged 6.2 points entering the day, was 5-for-9 from three-point range to finish with a game-high 22 points for the Big Red. Fifth-ranked Virginia Wesleyan snapped Christopher Newport's 12-game winning streak and beat its Tidewater area rival for the 10th time in a row, beating the Captains 89-74 at Old Dominion. No. 11 Whitworth shot 71 percent from the floor in the first half and outscored Lewis and Clark 33-15 in the second in a 79-59 win.

There were two new buzzer beaters on Saturday afternoon. Jacob Owens drained a three-pointer in the corner as time expired to give Marietta a 64-61 home win against Otterbein, while Anthony Keane answered a Sean Rossi three-pointer with a shot that got off just before time expired, giving Hartwick a 78-75 win against Ithaca. Jordan Kindred scored 40 points to lift Eureka past Greenville 101-97. Thirty-three of them came after halftime. Emerson won for just the third time this season under former Ohio State coach Jim O'Brien, winning 53-41 at Norwich. UT-Tyler erased a late deficit and beat Mississippi College 58-57. LaGrange beat Maryville for just the second time in 31 meetings, as Kendal Wallace, who played at Maryville for coach Randy Lambert, coached the Panthers to a 70-67 win. Grinnell improved to 15-1, 11-1 in the Midwest Conference with a 98-92 win at Lake Forest, dropping the Foresters into a tie for first in the league.

Nathan Bollinger set a Delaware Valley school record by pouring in 50 points, including the game-tying three-pointer with 2.1 seconds remaining in regulation, as the host Aggies rallied for a 95-85 overtime victory over MAC Freedom leader Wilkes. It's the first conference win for the defending MAC Freedom champ. Paul Reynolds scored 32, including six in the final minute of regulation, as Wesley defeated Salisbury 65-60. Washington College won at McDaniel for the first time since 2005, beating the Green Terror 65-52. The Shoremen are 7-1 in games decided by five points or less and have won five in a row, four of which have come on the road. In a game with 12 ties and 11 lead changes, Lycoming broke the last tie with 42 seconds left and hit 7-of-8 from the line in the waning seconds to beat Lebanon Valley 77-72.

Derek Barber-Richards hit a layup with ten seconds left in overtime to give La Roche a 59-58 win over Penn State-Behrend and their first-ever regular season sweep of the Lions. Kean and New Jersey City combined for one point in the final 2:55 but it was enough for the Gothic Knights to edge Kean 50-49 and remain in contention for an NJAC tournament bid. Oswego State remained unbeaten in the SUNYAC, defeating Potsdam State 76-56 behind 23 points from Hayden Ward. Keith Callies and Rusmir Dzanko each scored 24 points to lift Union past rival RPI 108-99.
