Rochester assistant hired at Mount St. Mary

Mount Saint Mary athletic director John Wright has announced the hiring of Ryan Kadlubowski as mens basketball head coach.

Kadlubowski, who has spent the past two years as the head assistant coach at the University of Rochester, is a 2003 graduate of the school and was on the Yellowjackets' Final Four team in 2002.

A native of Hilton, N.Y., Kadlubowski was responsible for on-court coaching and practice planning, as well as coordinating all recruiting efforts for the Yellowjackets. Rochester was 56-23 during Kadlubowskis three years with the program and made two appearances in the NCAA Tournament, reaching the Sweet Sixteen during the 2007-08 season.

"Ryan's prior experience as a Division III student-athlete and coach at a highly successful program will be invaluable as he readies to lead our team," said Wright. "He brings a tremendous amount of basketball experience and knowledge to our young men and his dynamic personality will serve him well in recruiting. I look forward to working with Ryan to continue the long tradition of success for our mens basketball program."

Im very excited for the opportunity to coach at Mount Saint Mary College, said Kadlubowski. I think my time spent as a player and as an assistant coach has prepared me to succeed as a head coach and to further the development of a highly successful program at the Mount.

Prior to coaching at Rochester, Kadlubowski was an assistant coach at Washington and Lee. He earned his bachelors degree in economics and also holds a masters degree in sports leadership, earned in 2006 from Virginia Commonwealth.
