Elmhurst dishes a second No. 1 loss

No. 19 Elmhurst handed No. 1 Wheaton (Ill.) its second loss of the week and the season and beat a No. 1 team for the second time this season as well, as Chris Childs came off the bench to score a career-high 24 points in leading the Bluejays past the Thunder 70-57.

No. 13 Richard Stockton overcame 24 points from Rashawn Smalls in winning 65-57 at New Jersey City. Haverford held Gettysburg to 5-for-23 three-point shooting and forced 28 turnovers in upsetting the No. 22 Bullets 56-45. No. 23 William Paterson fell into a three-way tie for first in the NJAC North Division after losing to TCNJ 70-65. No. 24 Franklin and Marshall survived another battle against McDaniel, avenging an earlier loss with a 71-65 win. No. 21 Roanoke lost for the second time in as many home Saturdays, falling to Virginia Wesleyan 82-74.

Wesley got 32 points from Roshawn Johnson and rallied from a 12-point second-half deficit to beat St. Mary's (Md.) 97-93. The Wolverines won their eighth in a row to improve to 11-5. Southern Vermont nearly had a rally for the ages, coming back from down 27 points to take a lead with 4.9 seconds left before Daniel Webster drew a foul and hit two free throws to win 73-72.
