Buena Vista had won 11 consecutive games, five of those by four points or less or in overtime. But the No. 6 Beavers' luck ran out when they ran into Wartburg on Monday night.
Wartburg shot 13-for-24 from three-point range and handled Buena Vista in giving the Beavers their first conference loss, 80-66. Cole Danielson hit seven of them in scoring a game-high 25 points, while Mitch Eslick added three three-pointers in the win.

Tyler Sanborn recorded his fifth consecutive double-double as Guilford beat Hampden-Sydney 69-51 to remain a half-game behind Randolph-Macon in the ODAC standings.
In women's action, Terell White hit a three-pointer at the buzzer for Marymount to force overtime between No. 19 Mary Washington and the No. 18 Saints, but Katy Larson scored six in the extra period and Ashton Mitchell added four to help fuel an 83-76 win for Mary Washington. The third Capital Athletic Conference team ranked in the teens, No. 17 York (Pa.) had little trouble with Wesley in an 89-59 win. Stevens finished off Elmira 72-44 in a game which started on Sunday but was suspended because of water dripping on the floor at Stevens' gymnasium. The game was completed at Kean.
