UW-Stevens Point completed a sweep of the No. 1 and No. 2 teams in the D3hoops.com Top 25, as the women beat the No. 1 Warhawks 84-76 and the men beat the No. 2 Warhawks 67-64 in overtime.
The No. 7 UW-Stevens Point men got 21 points from Matt Moses and rallied from a 12-point deficit to win at home, while the No. 24 Pointer women got 17 points from Britta Petersen, 15 of them in the second half, for the victory. Photo gallery.
The Pointers, missing Pete Rortvedt to injury the past two games, fell behind 34-22 at the half after Bryan Beamish hurt his knee. UW-Stevens Point (5-1, 1-0 WIAC) started the second half with a 12-4 run to get back into the game, then got a key foul call when point guard Khalifa El-Amin, playing with four fouls, drew a charge in the closing seconds, allowing Pointers star wide receiver Jared Jenkins to tie the game with a layup.

UW-La Crosse rallied from a 14-point second half deficit to knock off No. 3 Augustana 61-54. The homestanding Eagles finished the game on a 31-10 run. St. Vincent remained unbeaten, while handing No. 24 North Carolina Wesleyan its first loss of the season in the title game of N.C. Wesleyan's tournament. St. Vincent is a Division III provisional member and stands at 8-0.
Tyler Nading scored 20 and Dylan Richter came off the bench to add 15 in 17 minutes as No. 1 Washington U. improved to 7-0 with a 93-86 win against Illinois Wesleyan. No. 21 Ursinus did what it did four times last year, and in impressive fashion, rolling over No. 9 Gettysburg 82-53. In women's action, Heidi Arciszewski scored 31 points and was a perfect 16-for-16 from the line as No. 15 UW-Eau Claire held off archrival UW-Stout 73-68. Capital limited No. 14 Baldwin-Wallace to just nine points in the final 12:57 in a 51-42 win. It was the OAC opener for both teams. Bryanne Halfhill scored 21 points and had 12 rebounds to lead No. 18 Chicago to a 61-48 win against Elmhurst.
No. 11 Simpson held Cornell to nine points in the second half of a 70-33 win. Trinity (Conn.) is off to its best start since 1999-2000, improving to 7-0 with a 70-49 win against Clark.
The Stevenson and York (Pa.) men went into a marathon session as four players went 55 minutes or longer in a 104-92 quadruple-overtime victory. Gordon lost for the first time this season as Salem State improved to 6-1 with a 68-55 road victory.
