&&b-boxr&& The Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference women's tournament went much more according to form than the men's equivalent did Monday night. The WIAC saw all four of its top seeds advance, with ranked teams UW-Whitewater, UW-Stevens Point and UW-Eau Claire winning by an average of 31 points. But UW-Stout's Charlee Edwards had to hit an alley oop as time expired in overtime to lead the Blue Devils past fifth-seeded UW-La Crosse 65-63. Tuesday night's women's scores.
James Cooper reached the 2,000-point club for Wooster. Washington and Jefferson scored one field goal in the final 15:46 of its Presidents' Athletic Conference first-round game against Thiel, but it was enough as the Presidents survived 67-63 in overtime. W&J's basket came on a putback with 90 seconds left in the extra session. No. 3 Mass-Dartmouth rolled, rolled and rolled some more in destroying Mass-Boston 131-67 in the Little East Conference quarterfinals. The Corsairs ended the game on a 116-52 run, with six scorers in double figures. They'll host the semis and finals, facing Southern Maine on Friday night. The Pennsylvania Athletic Conference men's championship game is set, after fourth-seeded Gwynedd-Mercy knocked off top seed Alvernia and No. 2 Immaculata beat Misericordia. Immaculata will host for the title on Friday night.
Yeshiva had a second half to remember, rallying from a 22-point deficit with 17 minutes left to knock off SUNY-Old Westbury. How did it happen? The Maccabees shot 71 percent from the floor in the second half, while freshman Zachary Gordon scored a career-high 41 points, including 18 of Yeshiva's final 20. Both SUNYAC top seeds advanced, with the No. 10 Plattsburgh State men easing past Fredonia State 72-62 and the Brockport State women rolling past Buffalo State 69-43.
