Emory forces four-way UAA tie

Emory kept the Washington U. women from having first place to themselves in the UAA with a surprise 68-66 win on Sunday afternoon in Atlanta.

Lora Turner scored 23 points for the Eagles, who forced 22 turnovers to compensate for losing the rebounding battle 43-22. Emory compensated for a slow start by going on a 16-6 run to lead 37-35 at halftime and rallied from a 54-48 deficit in the second half. Full story.

Rochester's men lost their third game in a row and fourth out of five Sunday afternoon with a double-overtime loss at NYU. The Yellowjackets coughed up a 15-point lead in the second half and faded down the stretch, falling to 6-5 in the league. Sunday's men's scores.

The Wash U men nearly fell victim to the same upset bug that caught Rochester earlier in the season, needing overtime to win at Emory, 78-71. The Bears were 8-for-12 from the line in overtime after a back-and-forth end to regulation that finished with two free throws from Emory's Spiros Ferderigos. The win kept the Wash U men alone in first place, a game ahead of Brandeis and Chicago, which each won Sunday.

No. 20 Stevens, which is 14-0 at home, fell to 6-4 on the road with a loss at Utica. Moravian, one of just two Pool B men's teams in this past week's regional rankings, took a blow to their tournament candidacy Sunday with an 85-79 loss at Catholic.
