The Bears' comeback gives them a claim to the top spot in the D3hoops.com Top 25 poll, a ranking which will be reshuffled by the events of the weekend. Brandeis, which lost for the second consecutive time at home, had the ball for the final 16 seconds but could not get a good look at the basket.
Ruths finished with a game-high 25 points, including 11-for-14 shooting from the foul line and a basket and three-point play out of a loose ball situation with 16.6 seconds left for the final margin.

Chicago opened the second half on an 8-1 run to nearly eliminate its halftime deficit, but didn't take the lead until Dana Kaplan's steal sparked a fast break which Kaitlin Devaney finished with a layup with 11:11 left in the game.
