William Smith knocked off its third ranked team of the season, defeating No. 16 Cortland State 78-71 on Tuesday night.
The Herons, who previously defeated current No. 21 Medaille and No. 18 George Fox while losing to No. 22 Rochester, improved to 7-1. William Smith received 23 votes in this week's balloting. All five William Smith starters scored in double figures, led by senior Stephanie Czajkowski's 17 points, in the win.

No. 9 Puget Sound survived Pacific Lutheran's attempt to pull off a second consecutive Top 25 upset, as three players scored 30 or more in the Loggers' 125-116 double-overtime win. Pacific Lutheran led by as many as 14 in the second half but couldn't hold on as Robert Krauel scored 33, Jason Foster 31 and Antwan Williams 30. Jason Wagner delivered two last-second blows for No. 6 Mary Hardin-Baylor to lead the Crusaders to a 104-102 double-overtime victory against Concordia-Austin. No. 19 Mass-Dartmouth remained unbeaten, defeating 9-2 Salem State 97-88 behind 19 points from Dan Holbrook and 15 from A.J. Tavares. Middlebury improved to 10-2 with a 64-53 home win against Colby-Sawyer.
The Lebanon Valley women remained unbeaten, improving to 12-0 with a 68-46 win against Washington College. Their showdown with Messiah is two weeks away. Nazareth upset Brockport State 70-63, ending the Golden Eagles' seven game win streak and sending them to the consolation bracket of the JP Morgan Chase Tournament.
And New Hampshire was not kind to Keene State on Tuesday night, as the Owl men lost for the third consecutive game with 100% of the precincts reporting. But it wasn't like losing to Salem State or Williams, or even Tufts or Rhode Island College. KSC lost at home to New Paltz State, 90-86 in overtime.
