Deshion Innnis hit a three-pointer with 21 seconds left to force overtime and scored four of Cal Lutheran's six points in the extra frame, including the game-winner with 36 seconds left as the Kingsmen rallied from a 17-point deficit to win at home against No. 3 UW-Stevens Point.
Mychal Owens scored 21 to lead all scorers, while Andy Meier added 17 and a game-high 11 rebounds.
UW-Stevens Point (9-2) led 30-13 in the first half and 40-24 early in the second half. But Cal Lutheran (8-1) went on a 9-0 run and later scored five of the last seven points in regulation to force overtime.
Hampden-Sydney held LaGrange to 33% shooting from the floor and 1-for-11 three-point shooting in getting 2008 off to a good start, winning 67-53.
