Scranton back where it started

The Scranton Lady Royals enter the week the same place they entered this season, at No. 1 in the D3hoops.com Top 25, released Monday afternoon.

Scranton (15-1) ascended to the top spot in a highly split decision, where six teams received No. 1 votes. Scranton received seven, with 567 points overall, while No. 2 Bowdoin had five first place votes and was just two points behind, at 565. It's just the third time Scranton has been No. 1, as they entered the 2005 NCAA Tournament in the top spot as well.

Messiah, Chicago, Southern Maine and Calvin also received No. 1 votes. Messiah came in at No. 3, with seven first-place votes, and was just 11 points out of first place. The Falcons' only loss of the season is to Division II Mansfield.
