Howard Payne is outscoring its opposition by an average of 38 points per game. Nobody has been within 15 points of the Jackets at the final buzzer. The bench is empty so often that nine players average 13 or more minutes per game.
So it comes as little surprise to learn that the Howard Payne women improved to 15-0 on Monday with an 81-31 win against Sul Ross State. The Lobos had provided the lowest margin of victory to date in a 63-48 game at Sul Ross on Dec. 4. (If not for that, the lowest margin for a Howard Payne would be 20.) Meia Daniels scored 19, Stacey Blalock 16 and Kim Hoffman 12 for the victors, as 13 players scored.
Howard Payne has yet to face fellow ASC West Division Top 20 teams Hardin-Simmons and McMurry. They'll run the gantlet and face them twice each from Jan. 25-Feb. 3.
